Update

Shane was at the property today and the construction began. The workers were there putting in a temporary gravel driveway and digging the foundation. The electric guy was there putting in a temporary power source for the workers. They also dug a trench and ran a line for the drainage system for our house. It is exciting to see progress happening. Our builder told Shane that the masons will be there tomorrow to put in the footers and the foundation bricks are scheduled to be delivered on Friday. They will start on the foundation on Monday as long as the weather cooperates. Here are the pictures from today.

More work

Shane and I went to the property on Sunday since the weather was so great to do some more work. We focused on the left side of the driveway. Before we got there, the excavator had been there to remove some of the stumps and make a pile of dirt for the septic system. The lot is starting to look a lot like a yard! While we were working two people came and staked out the house so that on Wednesday they can start digging the foundation. we accomplished a lot and I am getting really excited to see the weekly progress as the house starts getting built. Picasso, Monet, Van Gogh, Berger

Payton Berger is a budding artist!! She drew her very fist smiley face today. Then I asked her to draw me another one and add arms and legs and she did it! She had no help whatsoever. Here are pictures of her masterpieces. I hope that you enjoy as much as I do. It is funny that when you become a parent the most wonderful feelings come from the little things in life....like your child's first smiley face!! (they loaded in reverse order.)
